Course Description: Discover the Jewish responses and rituals that take us through facing some of life’s most difficult challenges such as loss and mourning and arrive at a place of healing. When death inevitably enters our lives, Jewish wisdom and ritual can help us cope with heartbreak and loss, the anguish of why suffering exists. We will also seek to understand the big questions of what Judaism says about life after death and its understanding of messianic times. With a wider lens, we gain a context with which to better understand our moments of anguish as individuals and as a community.
In partnership with the MJCCA Lisa F. Brill Institute of Jewish Learning/Melton School, Atlanta, GA.

Book cost is $35
A social & educational group with fellow congregants. The group will meet monthly on Saturday evenings to hear and discuss topics of interest to the Jewish people.
Participants will take turns hosting a night of learning and friendship

Have you always wanted to learn to read Hebrew but were too apprehensive to start?
Now is the chance to learn the alef bet and common site words commonly found in the siddur.

Chai Mitzvah is an adult Jewish engagement initiative, that guides the participants in answering questions through study, spirituality, and social action. This year’s Chai Mitzvah class will have a dual curriculum. We will be using the book “Getting Good at Getting Older: which I will purchase for the participants. “Parsha in Pink” will be our second resource. The cost for the materials will be $12.00. Please note that some of our classes will be on the third Monday of the month because of various conflicts.
Classes not in person are held on Zoom from 7:15-8:30 p.m.

It is never too late to learn how to lead a service and chant a Torah and/or a Haftorah reading. Join our Eileen Cohn, our B’nai Mitzvah coordinator and fellow members of our kehillah, as you learn together and celebrate a joint B’nai Mitzvah ceremony.
