At Beth Shalom, we believe every generation has a place in our sanctuary. From toddlers to teens, our children’s and youth services are designed to kindle curiosity, nurture spirituality, and instill a sense of belonging. There are formal services when religious school is in session.
Service Offerings
Tot Shabbat – Targeted for preschoolers. Short, musical, interactive. Lots of singing, dancing, and storytelling.
Junior Congregation – Geared toward elementary-aged children (grades K–5). Kids learn the structure of Shabbat services, practice prayers, and engage with the weekly Torah portion in a fun, hands-on way.
Teen Minyan / Youth Service – Led by teens for teens. Fosters leadership skills, deeper prayer understanding, and a supportive social circle.
Family-Friendly Approach
Inclusive Environment – Parents are welcome to join or let their children participate independently, based on comfort.
Active Participation – Children often help lead prayers, chant Torah, and learn Hebrew songs.
Holiday Programs – Special children’s services for High Holidays, Sukkot, Chanukkah, Purim, and more, ensuring the youngest in our community engage wholeheartedly.
