After 38 years of dedicated service to Congregation Beth Shalom, Rabbi Zimmerman will be retiring as our full-time Rabbi in mid-2026. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and commitment to our community.

About Rabbi Hamilton

After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Jewish Studies undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, Rabbi Hamilton attended the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), where he received a Master of Arts degree in Hebrew Bible and Interpretation. Since August 2023 Rabbi Hamilton has served as Chaplain and Rabbi at the U.S. Naval Base in Yokosuka, Japan, responsible for providing support for a military population throughout the Western Pacific.

Originally from Oklahoma, Rabbi Hamilton and his wife, Adeena, met as teenagers at Camp Ramah in the Rockies. This past year they expanded their family with the birth of their daughter, Esti.

The Hamilton family, along with their lab, Buddy, are ready to return stateside, to establish their roots in a vibrant Jewish community.

About Rabbi Kvod Wieder

After completing his undergraduate studies at The University of California, Santa Cruz, Rabbi Wieder attended the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, American Jewish University, in Los Angeles. He currently serves as a rabbi at Temple Beth El of South Orange County (CA), with a focus on ritual leadership, teen programming, cantorial supervision, and leadership development

Rabbi Wieder’s personal mission, “to create authentic connections for people of all ages and backgrounds through the teachings and practice of Judaism and within the Jewish community” is emphasized through numerous accomplishments. This includes, organizing the first-ever national conference for Jewish teen philanthropy in Colorado; creating the first county-wide (Sonoma County, CA) post- b’nai mitzvah teen program, supported by a board from 5 synagogues; and serving as lead organizer for the largest Jewish meditation conference in the world (San Francisco, 1999).

Rabbi Wielder is visiting with his wife, Ilana and their 12 year old son, Aviv.
