Jewish Overnight Camp

As a member of the Conservative movement, Beth Shalom has a strong connection to Camp Ramah.  Camp Ramah Darom is located in the North Georgia Mountains. It offers campers and staff an inclusive atmosphere of friendship and fun in an experiential Jewish living and learning environment. Ramah provides and extraordinary, life-changing summer experience unlike anywhere else.

One Happy Camper grants: First-time overnight campers can apply to receive up to $1000 off their first summer at camp. Grants are first come, first served and are NOT based on financial need. Jewish day school students are not eligible for One Happy Camper.

Second-Year One Happy Camper incentive grant: Atlanta campers who received a One Happy Camper grant during summer 2015 may be eligible to receive a Second-Year One Happy Camper incentive grant up to $500. To apply for the second-year grant, complete the One Happy Camper application which includes questions that will determine your eligibility for the second-year program.

Bunk Connect is the newest, most innovative way for income-eligible families to find great summer experiences at highly discounted prices. The program, which matches eligible families with camps offering a limited number of spaces at a 40-60% discount, is specifically designed for families for whom Jewish camp might not be financially feasible—including families with moderate incomes, Jewish day school families, and first-time campers who are not receiving a One Happy Camper grant. NOTE: Bunk Connect opportunities may not be available for all camps and bunks may not become available until the spring

Needs-Based Scholarship: The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Camp Scholarship Program helps families in metro Atlanta with the cost of camp tuition. Camp scholarships are based on financial need and are awarded by the Camp Scholarship Committee as a part of an anonymous review and allocation process. All applications and inquiries are confidential. The camp scholarship program is funded through the generosity of individual donors, grants from charitable foundations, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Annual Campaign.

NOTE:

  • There is no limit to number of children in a family who can apply for a scholarship.
  • Once you start your online application, you have 30 days to complete and submit the form.
  • Application deadline is January 30, 2016
  • Applicants will be notified in early April of scholarship awards.
