Help the Shearith Israel Homeless Shelter

(For the past 10 years Beth Shalom members have provided meals to the Shearith Israel Shelter. It’s a wonderful way to support our community)

Congregation Beth Shalom has made a commitment to cook dinners for the Shelter at Shearith Israel called Rebecca’s Tent from Sunday, January 15 to Saturday, January 21, 2023. Shearith Israel’s Shelter for Homeless Women provides temporary housing for women in transition and assists these women in getting their lives back together.

Volunteers are needed to help cook/purchase meals for approximately 8 women, and/or transport the food to the shelter. We are looking for individual congregants along with groups like Sisterhood, Men’s Club, USY/Kadima, preschool, and our Girl Scout Troop to cooked for the shelter. We especially need people to transport the food. Adults and children found it very meaningful to help others in such an important way.
